Getting started

Introduction to StaticHero

What StaticHero does, the core concepts (sites, versions, domains) and where to start.

StaticHero hosts static websites — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, PDFs and anything else a browser can open — and adds the features small sites usually need: forms, analytics, password protection and version history.

Core concepts

  • Site — one website with its own address (name.statichero.site) and optional custom domains.
  • Version — a snapshot of your site’s files. Every upload, paste or editor save creates one. Exactly one version is live.
  • Domain — a custom address like example.com connected to a site.
  • Form — created automatically the first time your site receives a submission at /_forms/<name>.

Where to start

  1. Create your first site
  2. Upload files or paste code
  3. Connect a custom domain
  4. Add a form
