Codex hosting

Codex wrote it. StaticHero ships it.

OpenAI Codex can write and refactor whole projects. When the result is a static site or frontend, StaticHero puts it online in seconds.

In short

Codex works inside your repository or a cloud sandbox, producing code rather than hosting it. To deploy a Codex-built site to StaticHero, run the project’s build (or use the files as-is for plain HTML) and upload the output folder to your StaticHero site. Ask Codex to target static output and to post forms to /_forms/<name> for a backend-free result.

How to publish a Codex project on StaticHero

  1. 01

    Build the project

Pull Codex’s changes and run the build, e.g. npm run build.

  2. 02

    Publish on StaticHero

Create a site, then paste the code or drop the files. It’s live at yourname.statichero.site in seconds.

  3. 03

    Iterate

Ask Codex for changes and paste or upload again. Each update is a new version you can roll back.

Your link, your domain

Share an address you control — not a link tied to your Codex account or subscription.

Forms that work

AI-built contact and signup forms rarely have a backend. Point them at /_forms/name and submissions reach your inbox.

See who visits

Cookieless analytics show visitors, sources and conversions — including traffic from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.

Edit without the AI

Fix a typo in the in-browser editor instead of burning another prompt.

Password & expiry

Share drafts privately with a password, or make demo links expire automatically.

Version history

Every paste and upload is saved, so experimenting is safe.

Why host Codex output on StaticHero?

Codex focuses on writing code and opening pull requests; hosting is up to you. For static sites and frontends, StaticHero is the shortest path from merged code to a live URL.

StaticHero is a neutral home for everything you generate, whichever AI tool made it. You get one dashboard for all your projects, with a real domain, forms, analytics and backups, and you keep working the same way when you switch tools.

Add hosting notes to AGENTS.md

Codex reads AGENTS.md for project conventions. A few lines keep its output deployable:

AGENTS.md
## Deployment
The site is hosted on StaticHero as static files.
- `npm run build` must output to `dist/`.
- No server-side code. Forms POST to `/_forms/<name>`.
- SPA fallback is configured with `public/_redirects`.

Before you publish: a 30-second checklist

AI-generated pages are usually ready to go, but check these:

  • Replace placeholder text, fake testimonials and stock contact details
  • Remove any API keys or secrets from the code — everything in a web page is public
  • Point forms at /_forms/contact so they actually deliver
  • Add a real page title and description for search and link previews
