Node.js Hosting
Built with Node.js? Host what it builds.
Most Node.js projects that power a website ultimately produce static files — a bundle, a generated site, a documentation folder. StaticHero hosts that output instantly.

In short
StaticHero hosts the static output of Node.js projects — anything an npm build script, bundler (Vite, webpack, esbuild, Parcel) or static site generator (Eleventy, Astro, VitePress, Docusaurus) writes to a folder. It does not run long-lived Node.js server processes. For server code, host the API separately and the frontend on StaticHero, or use StaticHero Forms instead of a backend for contact forms.

Which Node.js projects work on StaticHero?
If your project produces a folder of files that can be opened in a browser, it works. Common examples:
- Bundled frontends: Vite, webpack, Parcel, esbuild, Rollup
- Static site generators: Eleventy (11ty), Astro, Hugo (via npm scripts), Gatsby, VitePress, Docusaurus, Hexo
- Documentation: TypeDoc, JSDoc, Storybook static builds
- Reports and dashboards generated by Node scripts
What about Express or Fastify servers?
StaticHero doesn’t run server processes. That’s a deliberate trade-off: static hosting is cheaper, faster and has nothing to patch. If your Node server mainly serves static files and handles a contact form, you can usually drop the server entirely — publish the static files here and use website forms for submissions.
If you have real API logic (databases, authentication, payments), keep the API on a server or serverless platform and host the frontend here; call the API from the browser with CORS enabled. See Express hosting for a walkthrough.
Can I run `node server.js` on StaticHero?
+
No. StaticHero hosts static files only. Run your build, then upload the output folder.
Do you install npm dependencies?
+
No build happens on our side. Your build runs locally or in CI, and only the generated files are uploaded.
Where should I host my Node.js API?
+
Any server or serverless platform works. Keep the frontend on StaticHero and point it at the API with an environment variable at build time.
Your site could be live in the next minute.
One site free, forever. No credit card, no setup, no servers.
